Lessons to be Learned

We learn lessons from our actions and the actions of others. What lessons are you learning as you read The Pearl?

I'm learning that you should be brave -- even when it means approaching someone who hates your race.

You have to be nice to everyone and you can't just discriminate. And, yeah, it isn't right when they hate you just because of your heredity. It doesn't mean that you should hate them and it doesn't make it right.

Two very good observations! You have looked at both sides of the issue...don't be afraid of those who discriminate...and don't be someone who discriminates! Great job.

Even if someone is mean to you, that doesn't mean that you can be mean back. just remember that god loves you and remember the golden rule.

I learned that you shouldn't hate people just because they are a differant race, to like everyone.

I have learned not to be a jerk if someone needs help. Like the doctor.

I am fascinated by things that you are just now learning! Are you quite sure that you learned, only from The Pearl, that you have to be nice to people of different races? that you need to be nice to people and help them? These are good lessons....but I'm not convinced that they are lessons that you learned FROM this book! Try again.... :)

I am learning be ready for what life throws at you. Take action and be helpful. If everything is going down hill pray to God for help.

you need to be strong even in a tough situation. Juana didn't cry; she took action with Coyoito. You can't cry about a bad thing.

I've learned that whatever life throws at you. You have got to be prepared. You've got to take action not just stand there and wait for someone to help you.
